Careers at Drift

Build the future of
yacht charter booking.

We're looking for builders who move fast, think in systems, and want to shape how AI-native companies actually work.

Orchestrator in Residence (OIR)

Company Drift Yacht (driftyacht.com) Location Remote (Austin, TX preferred) Duration 3 months (Spring Semester w/ potential to extend) Compensation $2,000/mo + performance-based incentives (see below) Schedule Flexible & async — success measured by progress, not hours logged Req'd Meetings Mon & Thu 8–8:45a CT w/ Eric & Trevor Reports To Eric Wilson, Founder & CEO

About Drift

Drift is an AI-powered luxury yacht charter concierge. We connect travelers with the world's best charter providers through a conversational AI experience — think Kayak meets a really knowledgeable friend who's sailed everywhere.

We're pre-launch, moving fast, and building something genuinely new: a business designed from day one to be run by AI agents, with humans steering strategy and creative direction.

Our founder, Eric Wilson, is a tech executive who leads Zillow Home Loans and has multiple startup exits. Our AI general manager, Trevor, is already live — an autonomous agent that manages operations, writes code, creates content, designs product, and runs 24/7 across every function of the business.

The Role

As our Orchestrator in Residence, you'll work directly with Eric and Trevor to take Drift from beta to market. You'll build product, create content, design systems, and — critically — architect the agentic automation that makes the business self-sustaining.

This isn't a "learn by watching" role. You'll ship real product to real users from week one. The AI does the heavy lifting on execution; your job is to direct it, QA it, improve it, and push the boundaries of what's possible.

Daily progress is expected. That doesn't mean you need to be working around the clock — it means you need the foresight to set Trevor up with the right tasks so work keeps moving, even on nights and weekends.

What You'll Do

Build & Ship (50%)

  • Design and refine the Drift website, AI booking experience, and customer/creator/partner portals
  • Develop and publish blog content, social media posts, and marketing assets
  • Create demo videos, pitch decks, and creator outreach materials
  • QA relentlessly across mobile and desktop — we ship 10/10 or we don't ship

Automate & Orchestrate (30%)

  • Build agentic workflows using OpenClaw: cron jobs, multi-agent orchestration, custom skills, and automated pipelines
  • Design automation for lead capture, content publishing, social scheduling, email campaigns, and business reporting
  • Optimize multi-agent configurations so the business makes progress autonomously
  • Stay on the bleeding edge of AI tools, models, and frameworks — evaluate and integrate what works

Strategy & Growth (20%)

  • Drive progress against defined OKRs: first booking, creator partnerships, 1,000+ monthly visitors, social media launch
  • Research the charter market, study competitors, surface growth opportunities
  • Track metrics and report on what's working (and what isn't)
  • Prepare thorough briefings for Monday and Thursday standups

What We're Looking For

Must-Haves

  • Builder mentality — you ship things, not slide decks
  • AI fluency — you use ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, or similar daily and intuitively understand how to work with AI as a partner, not just a tool
  • Web skills — HTML/CSS/JS at minimum; React/Next.js is a plus
  • Content instinct — you can write clean copy, create social content, and tell a story
  • Self-directed — you don't wait to be told what to do
  • Curiosity — the AI landscape changes weekly; you're already tracking it

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with agentic frameworks (LangChain, CrewAI, OpenClaw, n8n, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Vercel, Supabase, Cloudflare, or similar
  • Social media marketing chops (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube)
  • Design skills (Figma, Canva)
  • Interest in travel, sailing, or luxury hospitality
  • Previous startup experience or side projects you can show

Why This Role Is Different

1

Work directly with a proven founder.

Eric has built and exited multiple companies and leads Zillow Home Loans. You'll get real mentorship — direct access, real decisions, real feedback. No middle-manager buffer. LinkedIn →

2

Build with production AI agents.

Trevor is not a chatbot or a demo. He's an autonomous AI agent already running the business — writing code, creating content, managing deployments, and coordinating tools 24/7. You'll learn to orchestrate AI at a level most people won't touch for years.

3

Ship from day one.

Everything you build goes live immediately. Real users, real stakes, real portfolio pieces. In 3 months, you'll have more shipped work than most people accumulate in 3 years.

4

Define the playbook.

The intersection of AI agents and business operations is brand new territory. You'll help write the rules for how AI-native companies actually run.

5

Flexible by design.

No set hours. No time tracking. No busywork. We care about outcomes. If you can get the job done in 4 focused hours a day plus smart delegation to Trevor, that's a win.

Compensation

  • Base: $2,000/month (flat stipend, no hourly tracking)
  • Performance Bonuses:
    • OKR Milestones: Up to $1,500 cash bonus tied to mutually aligned OKR milestones
    • Partnership Annuity: Negotiated 12-month annuity payouts for high-impact creator and/or charter partner relationships that yield recurring bookings (e.g., ongoing percentage of 12-month revenues paid as a monthly commission)

About Eric Wilson

Eric is a tech founder and executive with 15+ years building and scaling companies. He leads Zillow Home Loans and has multiple successful exits. He and his wife Cathy own a 46-foot Lagoon catamaran (WAGMI) in the British Virgin Islands — and he's building Drift to modernize the $5B+ yacht charter industry. This is a rare opportunity to work 1:1 with a senior tech leader on a ground-floor venture. Connect on LinkedIn →
